Fall is approaching and believe it or not, the cooler temperatures means it is time to make a few changes to your hair care routine. You may already do these things but now is the time to do it diligently.

3 Tips On How To Prepare Your Hair For Fall

1. MOISTURE

Avoid dry and straw-like tresses by increasing products that promote moisture in your routine. Try adding a deep conditioner or an occasional hair mask. Even a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner can be helpful. Honorable mention for this section is to never detangle your hair dry.  It is one of the most damaging things you can do. Instead in a spray bottle mix conditioner and water. If you’re detangling before your wash day, a 1:1 ratio of any cheap conditioner will do. If detangling in between styles, a 3:1 ratio is fine.

2. NATURAL INGREDIENTS

A healthy scalp makes all the difference in the world. Try an essential oil like almond oil that soothes and moisturizes. Tea tree oil is helpful for super dry scalps and has antibacterial properties. The scalp seems to be one of the most neglected  areas in between washes.

3. PROTECTIVE STYLES

Keeping your tresses protected from the elements is vitally important. Pay close attention to your ends, this is where you’ll tend to see damage first. Styles like crochet braids, sew-ins, and head wraps add a barrier to keep the elements at bay. The best head wraps are satin lined like the ones by Jobim Clothing. The satin promotes moisture and reduces breakage. Cotton does the exact opposite and is very rough on your hair. Have a look at over a dozen colors and patterns by [clicking here].
